ICC 2018 Wrap Up
On December 1st, 2018 the Duluth East Daredevils attended workshops focusing on STEM and robotics at Itasca Community College. The event is meant to be a learning and teaching experience, using seasoned teams to teach rookie teams the ins and outs of a robotics team. The Duluth East Daredevils were joined by Denfeld DNA and Two Harbors Rock Solid, and other teams in the surrounding area. We shared our knowledge with multiple teams using slide shows, lectures, and hands-on demonstrations.
The day started off with two 1 hour long morning sessions, the Daredevils hosting informational seminars about topics including media, electronics, team management, business planning, drive training, and more.
The afternoon consisted of one 2 hour long session with hands-on experiences, and another 2 hour session of a “round-table” discussion. The hands-on sessions consisted of basic electricity & troubleshooting, programming help, and using programs such as Solidworks and AutoCAD. The “round-table” discussion topics were team leadership, competition awards, media platforms, communication, and media platforms. The day ended at 3 pm, and the Daredevils departed home to Duluth.
