Summer Robotics Camps

Summer is quickly approaching and it’s time to set up summer camps. These Summer Robotics Camps are run by FIRST Robotics Team 2512, the Duluth East Daredevils. These camps are designed to create an environment where creativity and problem solving thrive. Students will engage in the engineering and design processes with additional help from some of our student team members. These five day camps will take place at the Duluth East High School in the Media Center/Library.
Who: Students ages 8-12
Dates: June 18-22, 2018 and July 9-13, 2018
Time: 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Location: Duluth East High School Media Center/Library

BOTH 2018 SUMMER ROBOTICS CAMPS ARE FULL!

The cost of this five day camp is $125.00 with snack and souvenir fan shirt included. Checks can be made out to “Duluth East Daredevils Summer Camp”.
Students will be using the LEGO® MINDSTORMS® kits and software in groups of two or three. They will design, build, and program a robot to accomplish certain assigned tasks. On Wednesday, the students will be given a more difficult task that will culminate on Friday.
Even if you have no experience using the MINDSTORMS® software and pieces, you are still welcome as we will be teaching everyone the basics on both Monday and Tuesday. On Friday, all parents are welcome to come and view their child’s creation.
On the last day, students will also have an opportunity to drive one of the Daredevils’ robots. These robots will give the participating students an opportunity to drive a full scale FIRST Robotics Competition robot.

Hi we are interested in Signing our son up for Lego Robotics. We are wondering if there is still space. We don’t want to send a check with the application if there isn’t space and not know where the check is from there.

Is there still room in the June session?

Is there a contact phone number to reach someone? I sent my son’s application and check in May but the check wasn’t cashed and I haven’t heard anything from anyone whether he is signed up or not. He’ll be devastated if he can’t go, he had so much fun last year.
